Cheesie's Restaurant Apologizes After Tweet Advertising Ray Rice "Knockout Deal"

(CBS) -- A popular Lakeview restaurant is apologizing for a Tweet that advertised a "knockout deal" - a deal the Tweet referred to as "the Ray Rice."

Ray Rice is, of course, the football player indefinitely suspended by the NFL for a February incident when he knocked his then-fiancee unconscious.

Now Cheesie's Pub and Grill at Belmont and Sheffield Tweets that it's offering a "knockout deal."

Cheesie's called it "the Ray Rice."

"We had a security breach on our Twitter and it was posted by a previous employee."

Chance Lydick is the operations manager for Cheesie's. He says that fired employee never should have had access to the Twitter account.

So Lydick says Cheesie's social media director has now been fired.

And Lydick says Cheesie's has started looking around for charities that help women who are victims of domestic violence.

"What we're looking to do is, within the next month, set something up where we can donate half of our proceeds to that charity or organization."

Lydick says he's seen all the negative reaction to the initial Tweet - and he says he doesn't blame people for being upset.
