(CBS) Bears safety Chris Conte has a sprain in his left shoulder and could play next Monday night against the Jets, the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs reported.

Conte left Sunday night’s win in San Francisco and didn’t return after banging up his left shoulder. He missed Chicago’s offseason program after having right shoulder surgery in the spring.

There was some worry that he may be out for an extended stretch, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Conte suffered an AC joint sprain, Biggs reported, and he’ll be evaluated as the week rolls on.

Conte suffered his injury Sunday making a spectacular interception. He read 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s eyes and then made a diving pick in which he was basically parallel to the ground. It was his second interception of the season.
