Reports: Apple Plans To Reveal New iPads Later In October

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Just after settling down from the iPhone 6, fans of Apple products can start hyperventilating over the next big development from the company.

It won't be as big as last's month's event, so put away your paper bags.

Still, later this month, one report says Oct. 16 and another says Oct. 21, Apple will reveal its latest iPad and iPad mini models.

Look for news on the latest Mac operating system: OS X Yosemite.

There are reports that the newest iMacs, with super high-resolution and faster processors, are nearly ready for liftoff.

Just last month, Apple sent its followers into a frenzy with the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. CEO Tim Cook also showed off the Apple Watch, which is expected to go on sale early next year.

Just last week, customers who wanted to buy the new iPhone had to make a reservation and wait in line at the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue--several days after the gadget went on sale.
