(CBS) — Women are on high alert after several attacks over the weekend on the North Side.

The incidents happened in Lakeview and in Ravenswood, not far from Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s home.

Saturday, despite the 24/7 security near Emanuel’s residence, a mugger struck a woman in the head and took off with her purse before dawn.

The same man is believed to have struck an hour later, hitting a 64-year-old woman at Paulina and Addison and stealing her purse.

Then, on Sunday morning, two women pepper-sprayed a female victim at Kenmore and Barry, stealing her iPhone and wallet.

A fourth mugging occurred that morning at Sheffield and Waveland, in the shadow of Wrigley Field.
