(CBS) In a never-ending search for answers in a banged-up secondary, the Bears have made another addition.
Chicago has signed safety Shamiel Gary to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday. The 6-foot, 210-pound Gary is a rookie who played collegiately at Wyoming and Oklahoma State, where he had 47 tackles as a senior last season.
The Bears released nickelback Isaiah Frey on Tuesday, and cornerback Sherrick McManis could return from an injury to play against the Falcons this Sunday. Less promising is the status of safety Chris Conte, who left last Sunday’s game against the Panthers with his second concussion of the season.
