(CBS) —  The Chicago Bears have elevated cornerback Terrance Mitchell from the practice squad to the team’s 53-man roster while waiving linebacker Terrell Manning.

Mitchell has been on the Bears’ practice squad the entire season after he entered the NFL as a 2014 seventh-round selection (254th overall) of the Dallas Cowboys out of Oregon.

Last season, Manning appeared in two games on special teams for the Bears. He previously played with the San Diego Chargers and Green Bay Packers.

In other news, safety Shamiel Gary and tight end Jacob Maxwell joined the practice squad, the team said.
