One-Year-Old Child, 18-Year-Old Sibling Hospitalized After Back Of The Yards Fire
(STMW) -- A one-year-old child and and 18-year-old sibling were taken to the hospital after being rescued from a house fire in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters rescuedthem from the fire in a three story house in the 4400 block of South Honore after being called to the scene at about 3:30 p.m.. CBS 2's Brad Edwards reports the child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital with first degree burns and is expected to be ok. The sibling is also expected to be ok.
A firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while fighting the blaze. He did not need to be transported and is ok.
