(CBS) It’s been a challenging first season in Chicago for Bears defensive lineman Lamarr Houston, and it only got uglier Sunday.

In Chicago’s embarrassing 51-23 loss at New England, Houston — who just weeks ago after a loss told fair-weather Bears fans to “eat dirt,” drawing the ire of many — made a fourth-quarter sack with the Bears down 25 points, then injured his right knee, perhaps seriously, in celebrating his accomplishment.

Everyone around the Bears is preparing for the worst, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported, as Houston is set to have an MRI tomorrow.

After the game, the Tribune’s Dan Wiederer reported that Houston said, “I probably shouldn’t have celebrated while they were blowing us out. But it happens.”
