(CBS) If you’re searching for a value bet, Bovada has released its odds to win the 2015 World Series, and the Cubs check in at the middle of the pack, tabbed with the 16th most likely to win the title.
The Cubs’ odds were sitting at 33/1 late Thursday morning to win the 2015 World Series. Those were actually improved odds from when numbers were first released, as several reports indicated the Cubs opened at 50/1 earlier in the morning. That means there was likely some solid action on the Cubs at 50/1. Report after report indicating that Joe Maddon will be the new manager in Chicago could’ve generated interest on the Cubs’ behalf as well.
The White Sox had 40/1 odds to win the World Series as of late Thursday morning.
The Nationals and Dodgers are co-favorites to win next year’s title, each opening at 15/2. They were the top two teams in the National League this season before each was eliminated in the divisional series.
The Tigers and Angels follow with 10/1 odds, and the Giants and Cardinals have 12/1 odds. The Royals are pegged with 16/1 odds after falling to the Giants in Game 7 last night.
The Diamondbacks, Rockies, Astros and Twins are expected to be horrible, with each having 100/1 odds to win the 2015 World Series.
