Police Searching For Suspects In West Loop Sexual Assault

(CBS) -- The manhunt continues for two suspects police say snatched two women and sexually assaulted them on Halloween.

CBS 2's Pamela Jones reports the images police have released are so clear, people in this area believe someone "has" to recognize the suspects.

Could these two guys be stalking the West Loop searching the streets for their next victims?

It's a question that has a lot of women in the area on edge.

Two women, 29 and 30-years-old were walking to their car Friday when police say two men grabbed them, beat them up, and sexually assaulted them. It happened near Wayman and Green at around 4 a.m.

The attack has a lot of the women in the area on edge.

"Now, it's dark when we're leaving work at 5 o'clock at night, and you're like what's the difference, you know? Obviously, this is a busy area," West Loop worker Colleen Lange.

It's an area popping with party places.

Surveillance cameras caught images of the suspects. One is white, 5'11" to 6'1" and about 160 pounds. The other- Hispanic, maybe 5'5" to 5'9", and also around 160 pounds. Police think they may have gotten away in a gold four-door sedan.

"It's right around the corner. It freaked me out," said Cynthia Chea.

Cynthia Chea does makeup and hair at the eleventh hour salon. The case has pushed both employees and customers to take a closer look at safety.

"I mean, we're in the West Loop, it's a nice area. I mean we have a good crowd over here, nice and friendly, and nothing really happens around here, so this is kind of devastating," Chea said.

In a couple of photos, the suspects look like they may have even gone to one of the area bars. They passed someone who looks like a cashier or valet.

Anyone with information is asked to call area central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
