Two Men Charged With Robbing, Raping Escorts
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bail was denied on Tuesday for two men charged with calling escorts to arrange meetings in vacant buildings, where they sexually assaulted the women and robbed them at gunpoint.
Alfredo Torres, 28; and Ruben Hernandez, 21, are each charged with two counts of aggravated attempted robbery, three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon, five counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of unlawful restraint and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse with a weapon, according to Chicago Police.
Torres and Hernandez allegedly arranged meetings with female escorts at addresses that turned out to be vacant houses or apartments, then sexually assaulted and robbed the women at gunpoint, police said.
Chicago Police issued an alert to warn women of the attacks on Oct. 28.
Torres, of the 9600 block of South McVicker in Oak Lawn; and Hernandez, of the 7100 block of South Hamlin, were both ordered held without bail by a judge on Tuesday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
They are next due in court Nov. 24.
