(STMW) — Five people were injured – four seriously – in a two vehicle crash early Saturday in the Austin neighborhood.
The crash happened about 1:40 a.m. in the 5400 block of West Chicago Avenue, police said. A Dodge Caravan and Mercury Sable were both traveling east on Chicago Avenue when the Dodge rear ended the Mercury, causing the car to lose control and strike a brick retaining wall, police said. Two people were taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, Fire Media Affairs said. Two others were also taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. Fire officials said earlier that three vehicles were involved in the crash.
