(CBS) – Eighteen school musicians just returned from the trip of a lifetime and sharpened their skills doing something most of us could never dream of.

CBS 2’s Harry Porterfield says they are all someone you should know.

Returning from a tour of China are members of the Wirt-Emerson Visual and Performing Arts Academy string orchestra of Gary, Ind. The musicians performed in four cities, including Beijing, over two weeks.

“The Chinese audiences loved our students and they were quite impressed by our high interest toward their instruments and their culture,” director Rovelli T. Grib says.

Several members of the orchestra played Chinese instruments during their performances.
