Bears Sign Safety Anthony Walters

(CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have signed safety Anthony Walters to the 53 man roster and added, defensive end Jamil Merrell to the practice squad.

Walters played for the Bears from 2011-13, appearing in 33 games and starting one. The safety played for the Arizona Cardinals in the 2014 preseason.

Merrell is an undrafted rookie out of Rutgers. He spent parts of the offseason with the Bears and the Tennessee Titans.
