Kenny Williams On Sox's Offseason, Plans For Carlos Rodon

(CBS) White Sox executive vice president Kenny Williams joined "Inside the Clubhouse" on Saturday morning to talk about the White Sox's offseason plans and the future of pitcher Carlos Rodon.

Williams talked about the moves the White Sox made this offseason to supplement the players the Sox have already brought in.

"We see the youth and we see the upside that the youth can possess here, we've got to capitalize off this window that we have so let's bring in a little leadership in Adam LaRoche and he also brings a powerful left-handed bat and very key a clutch bat as well and good defense when Abreu is not out there as well so let's bring in that kind of leadership, that kind of guy that really goes after it and let's go supplement our bullpen a little bit and let's keep going," Williams said.

Williams also talked about whether Rodon, selected third overall by the White Sox in the 2014 draft, will pitch in the bullpen or the rotation.

"The repertoire that he brings is a lot like Chris Sale and I personally have been surprised by the development of the change-up because he really didn't need it in college, but has shown a plus change-up," Williams said. "This is a guy that can probably go into either role and go into either role right off the bat but what is going to be best for the White Sox this year and for him we all have to kind of get around and hear everyone's opinion and we will all make a decision together and move forward together."
