Ryan Dempster On Cubs' Front Office Role, Jon Lester

(CBS) -- Former Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster joined Bruce Levine and Mike Esposito on "Inside the Clubhouse"on  Saturday morning to talk about his new front office role as a special assistant with the Cubs.

"For me, the role is hopefully going to be something that makes an impact on some young kids in the organization, but at the same point, I have a lot of learning to do," Dempster said. "I don't know how this side works as much and I am just going to take it in stride. It is not going to be a ton of work, you are not going see me every day, but at the same tome I'm going to take a lot of pride in it and do the best job I can at it."

Dempster also talked about his former teammate, free agent pitcher Jon Lester, who the Cubs are reportedly interested in signing.

"Jon Lester is gonna pick wherever Jon Lester feels is the best for him and his family," Dempster said. "As much as I would like to say, 'Hey, my opinion matters that much,' he is a grown man and who is going to make a grown-man decision."
