Cops Warn Of Blackhawks And Bulls Ticket Scams

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police were warning Bulls and Blackhawks fans about scammers capitalizing on the popularity of two winning teams.

Arlington Heights police said scam artists have been getting people to send them money in exchange for nothing, by selling tickets for ridiculously low prices on Craigslist and Backpage, and telling buyers to go to CVS stores to wire them money using Western Union and MoneyGram.

The scammers tell victims they will email tickets once the payment is received, but once they get the money, the victims get nothing.

Police said it's virtually impossible for victims to get their money back, because the scammers instantly collect the money that is wired to them.

Victims of such scams should call local police.
