Megabus Involved In Accident On Indiana Toll Road

(CBS) -- A Megabus en route to Indianapolis from Chicago was involved in an accident on the Indiana Toll Road Tuesday afternoon.

The Megabus was involved in a chain-reaction crash Indiana State Police say. Police say the crash was the result of the bus driver failing to stop/slow down for traffic.

Two people in one of the cars hit by the bus were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Megabus spokesmen say they are aware of that crash - which happened near Hammond about 12:30 p.m. - and they're still working to get some details.

WBBM spoke with a passenger on that Megabus, Jocelyn Lopez, who says everything was fine on that bus heading toward Chicago.

"And all of a sudden it was four cars. And the bus driver was braking... and somebody just cut in front of him. It was just all a big mess. We crashed into... he kept trying to brake... we crashed into four cars."

Lopez tells WBBM the windshield of the Megabus was cracked. And when we spoke with her, she and other passengers were sitting on the bus, waiting for another bus to take them on to Chicago.
