Reports: Bears Showing Interest In Gary Kubiak, Dan Quinn

(CBS) On Tuesday, news broke that the Bears requested permission to interview Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase and Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for their vacant head coaching position.

Now you can add a couple more names that Chicago is zeroing in on: Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak and Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

The Bears are expressing interest in Kubiak, 670 The Score contributor Dan Pompei reported Wednesday morning. Kubiak has previous head coaching experience, directing the Texans from 2006-'13. In those eight seasons, he went 61-64 with two playoff appearances.

The Bears will also interview Quinn this Friday, the NFL Network's Albert Breer reported. Quinn will interview with the Jets and Falcons too, Breer reported. He's already interviewed with the 49ers. Quinn has been Seattle's defensive coordinator for the past two years, helping the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title in 2013 and a playoff berth this season. Seattle has had the top scoring defense both years under Quinn's watch.

As for their open general manager job, the Bears are interested in Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta, Pompei reported. There could be a snag in that pursuit, though, as the Bears are an "unlikely" landing spot for DeCosta so long as president Ted Phillips remains in the picture, Breer reported.

Plus, DeCosta is arguably the hottest candidate for a GM job, so the competition will be stiff. The Jets have reportedly already requested permission to interview DeCosta.

Bears upper management has stated a desire to hire a GM before a coach, but it left the door open to hiring a coach first if the ideal candidate emerges there first.

Gase has been the offensive coordinator for the past two seasons in Denver after previously serving as the quarterbacks and receiver coach there. The Broncos have averaged 30.1 points this season, second-best in the league. He will reportedly interview with the Bears on Friday or Saturday, along with

Bowles is in his second season with the Cardinals, who had the NFL's fifth-best scoring defense this season.
