Chris Ballard, Lake Dawson Still Registered At Chicago Area Hotel

(CBS) Bears general manager candidates Chris Ballard and Lake Dawson were still registered at a hotel on the North Shore shortly after noon Thursday, 670 The Score has learned.

Neither's whereabouts were known, but if both are still in town, it's notable, for the Bears reportedly want to settle on a GM by week's end. Dawson had his interview with the Bears on Tuesday, and Ballard had his interview Wednesday.

The Bears are also interviewing Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for their vacant coaching position Thursday, so they're juggling a lot.

Ballard has overseen the Chiefs' college and pro scouting departments for the past seasons. Prior to that, he worked for the Bears for 12 years, serving as an area scout for the first 11 before being promoted to director of pro scouting.

Dawson is the Titans' vice president of player personnel, as he's managed day-to-day football operations and overseen the pro personnel and college scouting departments.

The Bears have also interviewed Texans pro personnel director Brian Gaine and Saints player personnel director Ryan Pace for their GM job.
