New Trier Hosting Screening Of Documentary On Reddit Co-Founder Aaron Swartz
(CBS) -- A documentary about a Highland Park man who co-founded Reddit will be playing Sunday at New Trier High School, reports WBBM's Mariam Sobh.
Aaron Swartz was an emerging leader pushing for open access to the web. He committed suicide in 2013 and at the time was facing heavy fines and possible prison time for allegedly downloading scholarly journals.
The Family Action Network in Winnetka is hosting the screening of the documentary "The Internet's Own Boy" at New Trier High School.

"Lawrence Lessig from Harvard Law School will first deliver 15-20 minutes of remarks and then he will be joined on stage by Aaron Swartz's father Bob Swartz from Highland Park as well as the filmmaker Brian Knappenberger is coming in as well," said Lonnie Stonitsch with the Family Action Network.
Stonitsch says having tech heavyweights like Lessig is a huge draw and they are expecting at least 500 people to attend the screening at 1 p.m.
