CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was killed and another driver was injured in a traffic crash Sunday in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.
The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 76th Street and Ashland Avenue, when a vehicle heading south on Ashland failed to stop, police said.READ MORE: Pfizer Starting Study Of Vaccine Geared Toward Omicron Variant
It struck another vehicle heading west on 76th Street, and the drivers of both vehicles were taken to area hospitals, police said.
The driver of the vehicle that failed to stop — later identified as 38-year-old Kirk Branch, of the 100 block of South Ashland Avenue — was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died about an hour later, authorities said.READ MORE: Chicago Weather: Best Way To Melt All That Ice
The female driver of the other vehicle was treated for abdominal pain at Holy Cross Hospital, police said. Her age was not immediately known.
