Aer Lingus Flight Lands Safely At O'Hare After Report Of Landing Gear Issue

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Emergency crews responded to an Aer Lingus flight for reports of a possible landing gear problem as it arrived at O'Hare Airport Monday evening, but the plane landed safely.

Aer Lingus Flight 125 from Dublin, Ireland, to Chicago arrived safely and was later towed to a gate, according to Department of Aviation spokeswoman Karen Pride.

Chicago Fire Department officials initiated a standard response after learning about a possible problem with its landing gear, Fire Media Affairs Chief Larry Langford said. The plane landed without incident and fire officials followed the aircraft to the gate as a precaution, he said.

The flight landed on schedule just after 6 p.m. Chicago time, according to Flight Aware, an flight tracking website.

The airline could not be reached for comment Monday evening.
