Mokena Police Arrest Man For 2011 Hit-And-Run In Florida
CHICAGO (CBS) -- It took more than four years, but with the help of Chicago area police, authorities in Florida have caught up with the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run.
Roy Rauch, 58, allegedly struck and killed a bicyclist in Seminole County, Florida in August 2011.
Charles Long Jr., 36, was riding his bike the wrong way on a road in Sanford, Florida, when Rauch allegedly struck him with his 2004 Ford pickup truck, and fled the scene.
Long was pronounced dead about two hours later.
Rauch later turned himself in, and handed his pickup truck over to police, but he was not immediately charged with a crime, as it took investigators nearly two years to process all the evidence and complete their investigation.

A warrant was issued for Rauch's arrest in June 2013, but by then he had left the state.
Earlier this month, Mokena police received a request from Florida to check the home of one of Rauch's relatives in the 19000 block of Therese Lane.
"We knocked on the door. He actually answered the door. He was somewhat surprised, but he was very cooperative," Mokena Police Chief Steven Vaccaro said.
Rauch willingly surrendered to police, and was scheduled to appear in Will County Court on Friday for an extradition hearing.
If convicted of the Florida hit-and-run, he would face up to 30 years in prison.
