Man Found Dead After Fire In Austin

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was found dead after a house fire in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side late Tuesday, fire officials said.

Crews responded at 9:34 p.m. to the blaze at a two-and-a-half story home in the 400 block of North Leclaire Avenue, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez said.

A 62-year-old man was found dead after the fire was extinguished, Hernandez said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

Another person who lives in the home was displaced, fire officials said.

The cause of the blaze was unknown early Wednesday.
