(CBS) The Bears are evaluating free agent long snappers Trevor Gillette and Dax Dellenbach in workouts at Halas Hall on Tuesday, the Tribune’s Brad Biggs reported.

Chicago doesn’t currently have a long snapper under contract. It’s likely the Bears part ways with the 34-year-old Jeremy Cain, Biggs reported. Cain handled the job in 2014 after stalwart Patrick Mannelly retired.

Neither Gillette, 22, nor Dellenbach, 24, played in the regular season in 2014, though Gillette was with the Jaguars in the offseason and the Dellenbach has tried out for the Bears previously. Gillette went to Rice. Dellenbach went to Florida State.
