Toll Plaza Work To Close Tri-State Ramp Lanes Starting Monday

(STMW) -- Construction scheduled to begin Monday at two O'Hare toll plazas will cause daily lane closures on Tri-State Tollway ramps in northwest suburban Rosemont next week.

Electrical work at the O'Hare East Toll Plaza will require off-peak lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the ramp leading from northbound I-294 to River Road and I-190, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Similar closures will be in place on the ramp from southbound I-294 and the eastbound Jane Adams Memorial Tollway to I-90 because of work at the O'Hare West Toll Plaza, IDOT said. Only one lane will be closed at a time.

In April, continued work at the east plaza will require extended single-lane closures for pavement reconstruction and other work, IDOT said. The project will include pavement repairs for the two outside lanes and pavement reconstruction for the two inside lanes, in addition to toll equipment and electrical improvements.

Drivers will continue to have access to I-PASS or Pay Online lanes and automatic coin machine lanes during the construction, IDOT said.
