Taxi vs. Bike Messenger: Who Wins Race From Loop To Wrigley?
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Bike messenger Nico Deportago-Cabrera is a fast dude.
However, even fueled by a few Red Bulls, could he beat a taxi cab in a race from the Willis Tower to Wrigley Field?
As the bike flies, the route was shorter by about 1.5 miles. To avoid stop-and-go traffic downtown, the taxi took a longer route via Lake Shore Drive.
Deportago-Cabrera, being a bike messenger, wasn't too concerned about rules of the road.
Using bike- and helmet-mounted cameras, Deportago-Cabrera's white-knuckle ride is admittedly fun to watch.
I won't tell you who won.
It was close.
