The Luvabulls need a raise.

In a new video from the Chicago Bulls, the team's dance squad, the Luvabulls, share a few embarrassing stories with the viewer.

The moments, in hindsight at least, are funny to hear. They're easy enough to relate to, who hasn't had a drink spilled on them? Who hasn't been hit in the face with a basketball? They're the kind of anecdotes that suck when they happen, but can become entertaining over time.

With that said, it's unlikely both of those things will happen... while at work.

Can you now understand why I think they need a raise? Even if the prospect of taking a hit to the face wasn't present, this fact would still remain: the Luvabulls get paid squat.

To add some perspective -- Luvabulls are supposed to look at their position with the Bulls as a part-time job. With that said, few part-time jobs require the skill and training of a Luvabull. Plus, when you consider the time and effort actually put into this "part-time job," it seems anything but part time.

They get paid $40 bucks a game. They also get two tickets per game.

If a game lasts two and a half hours, that's $16 an hour. But, that's assuming the Luvabulls only have to be there for the duration of the game. This doesn't account for pre-game practice time. This doesn't account for the multiple practices the Luvabulls have on non-game nights. Plus, if you've been to a Bulls game, you are well aware that the Luvabulls are often at the United Center greeting fans long before and after games.

Admittedly, Luvabulls are also eligible to earn $90 an hour for personal appearances. This must cause their overall pay to skyrocket, right?

That seems unlikely...

According to Indeed.com, professional cheerleaders make an average of $20,000 a year. In Chicago -- keeping in mind the Bulls are the only major team in the city with dancers -- that average rises to a whopping $24,000 a year.

Sure, the Luvabulls is a part-time job that pays decently... When you don't consider the extra unpaid hours these women work.

The Luvabulls are willing to put up with the low pay and high upkeep (you didn't think their makeup and gym memberships were free, did you?) because they're passionate about their work. But just because someone's passionate, doesn't mean they deserve to be underpaid.

Is the above video yet another fun piece of media shared by the Bulls? Definitely. But if we're being honest, I'd feel a lot less guilty watching it if the Luvabulls -- athletes whose skills are on par with their basketball player coworkers -- made a fair wage.

The source I used for their pay is a little old. Sadly, the Chicago Bulls won't share financial information for employees.
