Warm And Sunny Start, But Cool And Rainy End To The Weekend

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Some parts of the Chicago area could be forgiven for thinking summer has arrived early, as temperatures were expected to flirt with the 80s Friday afternoon.

It could be as warm as 78 in Joliet and Ottawa, and 77 in Aurora and Kankakee. Breezes off Lake Michigan will keep temperatures a little cooler along the lakefront, but it will still be a beautiful start to the weekend, with warm and sunny conditions throughout the afternoon.

Chicago's expected high of 75 will make for a very welcome warm Friday.

Saturday will be another gorgeous spring day, with a high of about 74, and sunny skies.

Conditions should remain dry and clear through Saturday evening, followed by a chance of showers and storms on Sunday.

Sunday also will be noticeably cooler, with a high of only about 62, and more rain is possible on Monday and Tuesday, while temperatures will settle in the 50s to start next week.
