Bears Sign TE Bear Pascoe

(CBS) The Bears have signed an aptly named tight end.

Chicago has inked Bear Pascoe to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday. He's a six-year veteran who spent five seasons with the Giants before playing for the Falcons last season.

Pascoe has 40 catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns in his career. He appeared in all 16 games for Atlanta, making two starts and two receptions. He's 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds.

The 29-year-old Pascoe was originally a sixth-round selection by the 49ers in the 2009 draft.
