Chicago Woman's Eye Bulge Trick Among Most Notable Stupid Human Trick On Letterman

(CBS) -- After tonight, the world may never see another stupid human trick, at least not the way they surfaced on Late Night with David Letterman.

CBS 2's Vince Gerasole reports one of the most memorable tricks ever on the show was the special talent of a Chicago woman.

Kimmy Goodman's eye-dentity is hard to forget.

"All I do is squint and they pop out," she said.

Back in 1997 that talent landed the South Side's Kimmy Goodman on Late Night with David Letterman.

Looking back at the moment, Goodman confessed her special skill only surfaced after a mild head bump well into adulthood.

"I had never told anybody not even my sister, my family nobody ever knew," she said.

But when she learned Letterman was showcasing stupid human tricks, Goodman opened her eyes to the possibilities and attended a casting call.

"They were in shock. First thing they were like 'oh my God' everybody yelled and they were like give her some tickets right now," she said.

Goodman was so popular with viewers she was asked back two weeks later, and her world began to change.

"My phone was ringing off the hook, I was getting plane tickets to go all over the place," she said.

Goodman is now Guinness certified for the world's longest eye bulge at 12 millimeters and has gone on to make commercials in the U.S. and Europe. She was even featured as one of the best stupid human tricks ever in Letterman's farewell special. All thanks to that sarcastic talk show host named Dave.

"He likes to have fun at other people's expense, so what?" Goodman said.

Goodman says the only time she spent with Dave was live on the air. She also went years without ever watching the show until her sister said he was a funny guy not to be missed.
