Cool Start To The Weekend, But Lovely Father's Day On Tap

CHICAGO (CBS) -- After seeing plenty of rain this week, Chicago will be able to enjoy clear skies to start the weekend, though it will be a bit cool in much of the area on Friday.

It will be sunny and cool most of the afternoon on Friday, with temperatures reaching only about 67 degrees in Chicago, and a bit cooler by the lake. However, areas farther from the lake could get close to 80 degrees.

After all the rain earlier this week, there are still some flood alerts in effect along the Kankakee River and

Saturday will be a bit cloudier, though much warmer, with a high of about 86, before a line of showers and storms moves in.

Father's Day is also the first day of summer, and while Sunday likely will start out rainy, skies should clear again in the morning as the storm system moves south, and conditions should be great for dads who want to go golfing, or fire up the grill, with a high of about 82 degrees, and dry conditions after dawn.
