Boy, 4, Critically Injured After Fall From Window

(CBS) -- A four-year-old boy fell six floors to the ground from a building in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood Wednesday night.

Chicago Fire Department paramedics transported the child in critical condition to the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital.

Police and fire department spokesmen said that paramedics were summoned at about 8:30 p.m. to the building, on the 6500 block of South King Drive.

Police News Affairs spokesman Hector Alfaro said it is being investigated as an accident. It was unclear if the window had any protective guards on it.
