Woman Sexually Assaulted On Red Line Train

CHICAGO (CBS) – Police were investigating after a 55-year-old woman said she was sexually assaulted on a CTA Red Line train last week in the Uptown neighborhood.

Police said a knife-wielding suspect sexually assaulted the woman around 11 p.m. on June 16, on a train near the Wilson stop, in the 4600 block of North Broadway.

The woman took herself to Mercy Hospital & Medical Center, where she was treated. Police said she's in stable condition.

The CTA has not responded to questions about whether the attack was recorded by surveillance cameras.

No one was in custody on Friday.
