WATCH: Metra Cops Stun Passenger In Incident On Board Train
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Bloomingdale man was planning to sue Metra, after transit police shocked him with a stun gun earlier this week on board a train.
Metra said several apparently drunk passengers were being loud, and swearing on the second level of a Milwaukee West Line train, and continued their disruptive behavior after a conductor asked them to stop.
Another passenger was recording on his cell phone camera as the train was halted at the Western Avenue station, and two Metra police officers boarded the train, and police repeatedly told a man in the group to come down and get off the train.
The man refused to comply with police, and when one of the officers walked up to the second level and tried to handcuff him, the man tried to get away by walking further down the aisle.
"You have no jurisdiction to arrest me," he said. "Tase me, I dare you. I f****** dare you."
The man later seemed to calm down, and put his hands behind his back. The officer standing in front of him can be seen shocking him with a stun gun, while the second officer places him in handcuffs, and the officers repeatedly tell him to stop resisting and get down on the floor.
An officer also can be seen locking the man's head between his legs once the man is down on his knees.
The man, 20-year-old Ryan Hutchinson, of Bloomingdale, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Hutchinson's attorney said police used excessive force, and Hutchinson will sue Metra for police brutality.
Metra said the man was being unruly, and resisting arrest, and the whole thing could have been avoided if Hutchinson had complied with police.
