(CBS) The Blackhawks have signed forward Viktor Tikhonov to a one-year deal, they announced Wednesday.
Tikhonov, 27, has spent the past four seasons in the KHL in Russia, where he recorded 24 points in 49 games last season for SKA St. Petersburg. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes late in the first round of the 2008 draft.
His deal with Chicago is reportedly worth just more than $1 million.
Tikhonov is the grandson of former Soviet coach Viktor Tikhonov.
