Chicago Tops Nationally In Fatal, Officer-Involved Shootings: BGA

(CBS) -- Police officers in Chicago have killed more people than officers in any other large city in recent years, according to an analysis by the Better Government Association.

Fatal officer-involved shootings here far surpass the number in any other large city, the BGA says. And of the 70 people killed by Chicago police between 2010 and 2014, more than half were African-American.

Over the same time period, officers in Phoenix fatally shot 57; and in Philadelphia, 54. New York and Los Angeles had fewer fatal shootings involving officers.
