Two Killed In Roseland Shooting

(STMW) -- A man and a woman were killed in a shooting Thursday evening in the Roseland neighborhood on the South Side.

About 6:55 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 500 block of West 109th found the two people outside with gunshot wounds, police said.

William L. Drake, 20, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. He lived a few blocks away in the 10900 block of South Lowe.

Briona O. White, 22, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was later pronounced dead, authorities said. She lived in the 10100 block of South Carpenter.

A police source said the man was a documented gang member.
