Cubs Activate Neil Ramirez, Call Up Yoervis Medina
(CBS) The Cubs have added some depth to their often-used bullpen.
On Tuesday before a game at St. Louis, Chicago activated right-hander Neil Ramirez from the 15-day disabled list and called up right-hander Yoervis Medina.
The 26-year-old Ramirez had been out since July 29 with left abdominal soreness. He's 1-0 with a 3.12 ERA in 13 appearances for the Cubs this year.
The 27-year-old Medina has a 4.71 ERA in 17 appearances this season split between the Cubs and Mariners. He compiled a 5.63 ERA in 32 relief outings in Triple-A this season.
