Cubs Holding Drawing For Single-Game Playoff Tickets
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cubs fans will be able to register for a random drawing for a chance to win playoff tickets beginning Thursday morning.
Fans hoping to buy single-game tickets to the potential NL wild-card game or Division Series games can register online at www.cubs.com/postseason from 9 a.m. Thursday until noon on Sept. 23.
Fans who register will be notified by email if they have been selected for a chance to purchase playoff tickets before single-game tickets go on sale. Winners will have a one-time opportunity to buy up to four tickets, depending on availability.
The number of available single-game tickets will depend on how many tickets are purchased by season-ticket holders and other Cubs partners.
Fans who register for tickets but aren't picked for wild-card game or NLDS games will remain eligible for drawings for later rounds if the Cubs advance further in the playoffs.
The date when single-game tickets will be put on sale will be announced at a later date.
Fans must be legal U.S. residents and at least 18 years old to register.
Currently, the Cubs hold a nine-game lead for the second NL wild-card spot, trailing the Pirates by three games for the top wild card. So as it sits, that win-or-go-home game would be played in Pittsburgh on Oct. 7.
