(CBS) — The Sheriff’s Department in Lake County has released the results of a prostitution sting last month called National Day of Johns, reports WBBM’s Mike Krauser.

The sheriff’s gang task force and criminal investigations division joined a coalition of federal and local law enforcement in a nationwide operation targeting customers of prostitutes or Johns.

Investigators placed ads on a website that is used for sex trafficking and arrested those who made appointments and showed up offering undercover officers money for sex acts.

There were a total of 14 arrests in Lake County, including a 72-year-old man from Glenview and a 67-year-old man from McHenry. The youngest was 18, also from Glenview. The arrestees are:

  • James J. Powers, 54 of Aspen, Colo.
  • Juan M. Carrera-Coronel, 34 of Gurnee
  • Hunter J. Ebdon,19, of Mundelein
  • Benjamin L. Schwartz, 18, of Glenview
  • Joseph T. Sapyta, 41, of Grayslake
  • Hyunsu Kim, 43, of Deerfield
  • Michael B. Miller, 54, of Harvard
  • David J. Swan, 33, of Round Lake
  • Adalad Ponce, 32, of Gurnee
  • Juan Ocampo-Bautista, 32, of Round Lake
  • Brandon J. Correa, 28, of Waukegan
  • Bardo Beltran, 32, of Ingleside
  • Glenn R. Parduhn, 67, of McHenry

In the four years the stings have been conducted, 4,000 arrests have been made.
