(CBS) -- The FBI believes it has arrested and charged a North Side woman as the so-called "Uptown Beach Bandit" for a robbery last month.

WBBM's Bernie Tafoya reports the Uptown Beach Bandit is alleged to have worn a floppy straw hat and large sunglasses and the FBI says that bank robber is 45-year-old Cynthia Wonsey.

She is accused of taking more than $550 from the TCF Bank branch in the 3500 block of North Broadway last month and is suspected in a couple of other hold-ups.

Two purported relatives and two purported friends of Wonsey are said to have called police to identify her as the one whose picture was posted online.

Although no gun was shown, Wonsey allegedly said in her lengthy hold-up note to a teller that she had a gun and that she had an accomplice that also had a gun and was watching.
