Teen Shot And Killed In Calumet Heights
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 17-year-old boy was shot to death Wednesday morning in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The shooting happened in the 9100 block of South Yates Boulevard at 7:47 a.m., police said.
The boy was shot in the abdomen and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
A police source said the victim was a documented gang member.
