(CBS) — Two historically black colleges from the east will meet on the turf at Soldier Field Saturday in what has become an annual tradition.
The Morgan State University Bears and the Howard University Bison will face each other during the 18th annual Chicago Football Classic.
On Friday, visitors at Daley Plaza got to see — and hear — a musical version of that contest.
WBBM’s Veronica Carter reports organizers hoped the “Battle of the Bands” would be a way to boost morale for the struggling rivals.
There will also be a college fair and tail-gating. Altogether, 11 bands will be performing on the east side of the stadium Saturday.
Game time is 3:30 p.m.
