Three Charged With Austin Shooting That Injured Two
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three men have been charged in connection with a shooting Sunday night that left two men injured in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
David Stuart, 23, faces one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, while 30-year-old Johnny Richardson has been charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, according to a statement from Chicago Police. Terris Williams, 21, faces one felony count of aggravated fleeing and disregarding two traffic control devices.
About 9:40 p.m. Sunday, two men, ages 18 and 24, were standing outside in the 3000 block of West Lexington Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone from inside fired shots, police said.
The 18-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, and was take to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The older man suffered a graze wound to the right wrist, and he refused medical care at the scene. A police source said the two men are documented gang members.
Officers in the area then saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene and a traffic pursuit ensued, police said. Stuart, Richardson and Williams were subsequently taken into custody. Several weapons, including a rifle, were recovered at the scene.
Stuart, of the 1600 block of South Komensky; Richardson, of the 800 block of South Kedzie; and Williams, of the 4300 block of West Washington, were all scheduled for a bond hearing Tuesday.
