John Hefferan is a member of the DuPage Community Band, which is a band for students and adults in the community. He was arriving on campus when the evacuation happened.

“When I got here, there were hundreds of people standing around.  Every building, every classroom, has been evacuated, and the campus has been shut down,” he tells WBBM Newsradio. “We don’t know if they’re just playing it safe because of what happened in Oregon, or it’s something else.”
