Cubs-Pirates Wild-Card Game Divides One Pittsburgh Family

PITTSBURGH (CBS) -- There is nothing like a household divided in the world of sports and for one Pittsburgh family, they bleed black and gold with a hint of Cubbie blue and red.

CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine reports in Pittsburgh, some Cubs fans are still arriving, others already there, hoping to take the first step toward making their impossible dream a reality. Neither the Cubs nor the Pirates, or Bucs as they're called in PIttsburgh, will go down without a fight. Nor will their fans. This is war

It's a real life family feud in one Pittsburgh suburb. When Doug and Julie got married they didn't realize "for better or for worse" would be in one day.

Doug and his children are Pirates or Bucs fans. Julie and hers bleed Cubbie blue.

But 24 hours before the game, the trash talking here has already begun.

"He might be sleeping on the coach," Julie said.

It all gets underway Wednesday at 7:08 p.m., which is 19:08 in military time, with 1908 being the last time the Cubs won the World Series. An omen perhaps?
