(CBS) — The Bears have waived safety Demontre Hurst and elevated cornerback Bryce Callahan from the practice squad.

The 24-year-old Hurst had appeared in three of Chicago’s first six games this season and had been credited with one tackle. He’s spent his entire three-year career with the Bears.

Callahan appeared in the first two games of the 2015 regular season for the Bears after entering the league with the team as an undrafted rookie out of Rice. He has spent the last four weeks on Chicago’s practice squad.
