Three Teens Shot In Bronzeville

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three people were shot in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday afternoon.

The three were walking on the sidewalk in the 4700 block of South Calumet Avenue about 3:10 p.m. when they were shot by someone in a passing vehicle, police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the right thigh and a 16-year-old boy was shot in the right hand, right foot, and both calves. They drove themselves to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center where they were stabilized, police said. The 16-year-old has since been transferred to Comer's Children Hospital.

A 17-year-old boy was also shot in the left hip. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he is listed in good condition, police said.

Police are questioning three persons of interest in connection to the shooting.

A police source added that all three victims were documented gang members.
